Treehouse Therapies is pleased to partner with Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center (HRTRC) to offer physical and occupational therapy services incorporating equine movement as a treatment tool/strategy (also known as Hippotherapy.

Healing Reins is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a Premier Accredited member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International which is the highest possible accreditation standard. All Healing Reins' instructors are professionally certified by PATH International and are in charge of handling all of the horses in each treatment session. Healing Reins as well has Treehouse Therapies have a non-discrimination policy and accepts all clients regardless of race, color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or economic status.

At Treehouse Therapies, licensed and specially trained PTs and OTs use evidence based practice and clinical reasoning in the purposeful manipulation of equine movement as a therapy tool to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes. This will be one of a variety of treatment tools or strategies used by your therapist to help reach your child's specific goals.

During the approximately 30 minutes that your child may receive equine movement as a treatment tool, they will receive over 3000 repetitions of graded, rhythmic movement that helps facilitate postural control and integration of all of the systems of the body. Your child will be given the opportunity to experience more normal movement patterns which can improve posture, balance, sensory integration, endurance and ultimately, gait.
