Chelsea Ramsey, LPC |
Chelsea is a parent and professional who’s life and education has been driven by her passion to help families and children like hers. She grew up in Central Oregon and understands the challenges that families face when attempting to find resources for their children in the High Desert. As a former Head Start teacher who is married to an Iraq War veteran and mother to three children who have unique challenges, she used her experiences inside the classroom and out with children who displayed explosive behavior patterns to co-found Wyldwoodz Resource Center. After 6 years of work with children and families in Central Oregon as a peer support mentor and behavioral specialist, she went back to school and obtained her Master’s in Counseling from Oregon State University in 2019. She uses her unique perspective as an educator and a parent as well as her background in therapeutic techniques and Collaborative Problem Solving to help kids and families build the skills they need to meet the demands of the world around them. Her driving belief is that kids and parents do well when they CAN rather than when they want to and works to help kids and families understand skill deficits and skill building across different settings. Her experience encompasses not only explosive behavior patterns, but children and families who are experiencing PTSD, Anxiety, adjustment and the unique challenges a child faces when dealing with a chronic, life altering illness.
In her free time, Chelsea can be found riding horses, camping, gardening or just spending time with her family both furry/scaley and human.
